Our goal is to provide the finest professional training through classroom and studio instruction. To enrich the classroom and studio training students are provided maximal opportunities to obtain professional level production experience through active participation in plays produced by its theatre production arm, the Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT). In addition, the University’s physical location, close proximity to New York City, allows for an active interchange with many other exciting designers who live and work in the area. Through a conservatory approach in a liberal arts setting, our students learn to perform, interpret and teach in all aspect of theatre in a rich learning environment that provides a broad education and intense training. Individuals may audition/interview to enter one of the following programs: Acting (BFA, MFA), Design Tech. (BFA, MFA), Puppet Arts (BFA, MFA) and Theatre Studies (BA). At the end of the students’ college studies, they are granted a Bachelor of Fine Arts or Bachelor of Arts Degree in their chosen specialization.

Your transcript(s) must meet the following criteria: A cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 for your entire undergraduate career or A grade-point average of at least 3.0 for your last two undergraduate years or Exceptional work in your entire final undergraduate career (3.5 or better) or Graduate work with a minimum grade-point average of 3.0 or better GRADUATE TEST SCORES Many programs require submission of the General Test of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Some programs require specific GRE Subject Tests. Business programs require the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT). *Please check with your intended program to confirm which test scores are required, if any. ENGLISH PROFICIENCY If you are not a native speaker of English, you must submit evidence of your proficiency in the English language. You may use the (no more than two years old) results from either one of two standardized tests to satisfy this requirement. If you submit results from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), you need a minimum overall score of 550 for the paper-based test, or 79 for the Internet-based test. If you submit results from the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), you need an average overall band score of at least 6.5. Only the scores from the Academic Module, not the General Training Module, are applicable. If you submit results from the Person Test of English (PTE) we require and overall score of 53.
