This course is suitable for you if you are a graduate of Economics who aspires to a career in a global institution such as the World Bank, the UN, the OECD or NGOs, in government departments in a range of countries or in roles supporting business analysis in organisations of all sizes. Course content The programme is currently under development but we expect the programme to have a strong analytical and quantitative focus. In the first semester there will be three compulsory modules: advanced microeconomics, advanced macroeconomics and econometrics. The second semester will comprise of short modules in the most popular four out of the following six areas: Development Economics, Public Policy, Financial Economics, Environmental Economics, Health Economics and The Political Economy of East Africa. A further module – which supports the completion of a dissertation – is designed to give you the necessary research and project management skills to undertake both the dissertation and the kinds of economic analysis which are likely be required by a range of employers. The programme culminates in the submission of a sustained piece of independent economic research which will be supported by an academic supervisor.?
