PS Statement of purpose (Uploaded):In a focused statement of at least 500 words, please explain your purpose in applying for a graduate program in Latin American Studies, your particular area of specialization within the program, your preparation for graduate work in Latin American Studies, your plans for your future occupation or profession, and any additional information that may help the admissions committee in evaluating your preparation and aptitude for graduate study. The admissions committee places great emphasis on this statement in evaluating your aptitude for graduate study. It should be carefully written and typed. GPA An undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 3.0, either cumulative or based on the last two years of work, whichever is higher; graduate GPA of 3.4 or higher. The International Admissions Office of the university will evaluate transcripts of grades from international institutions and provide the graduate committee with an assessment in terms of equivalency to the U.S. grading system. Applications submitted after the application deadline will incur an additional $30 late fee, even if an academic department has a later deadline.
