PS Statement of Purpose – Please provide a statement of purpose that describes your reasons for seeking a PhD in Sociology at UNC, your major intellectual interests and career goals, the sort of research and scholarship you hope to pursue, and the most important aspects in your background that have prepared you for graduate study in Sociology. The statement should be not more than three pages long. CV Resume (optional) – You may provide an optional resume that summarizes your education and professional experience. Fee A non-refundable $85 application fee is required for each program to which you apply. RL Three (3) letters of recommendation are required. Transcript One unofficial transcript from each university attended must be uploaded within the application. All unofficial transcripts must be uploaded to your application in order for your application to be reviewed. Please do not mail transcripts as part of your admission application; we only accept unofficial uploads for application evaluation. If you are offered admission, one official transcript for each university attended will be required prior to the first day of the term.
