PS All applicants must prepare a detailed "personal statement" describing your background, goals, and reasons for applying to the S.J.D. Program. You should include any information that you feel will assist the Graduate Admissions Committee in its decision. Georgetown Law actively recruits students from diverse racial, economic, and ethnic backgrounds. CV Applicants must submit a resume that includes information such as education and work experience (including dates of degrees received and employment, employer names and locations, position titles, and description of work responsibilities for each position held). Fee There is a $90 fee to apply to the S.J.D. Program. Applicants using the online application must pay by credit card. RL Applications for the S.J.D. program must be supported by three outstanding recommendations: one from a law professor from the applicant's first law degree program, and two from the applicant's LL.M. law professors. One of these recommendations must be from the applicant's LL.M. writing course professor, who can speak to the applicant's English language writing and speaking ability. The Admissions Committee may contact the recommenders to discuss the applicant's candidacy. Transcript Students applying online must submit their transcripts through LSAC's Document Assembly Service, which is included when you create your LSAC account and pay the LSAC registration fee to use the online application form. You will only need to obtain your transcripts, letters of recommendation, and TOEFL score(s) one time, and LSAC will arrange for your documents to be forwarded to law schools to which you wish to apply. Internationally-educated students are strongly encouraged to register for LSAC's International Transcript Authentication and Evaluation Service. For an additional fee, LSAC will authenticate and evaluate your transcripts, as well as distribute them to the schools to which you wish to apply. By using this service you will also not be required to complete Georgetown's Registrar's Certification form. Applicants using a paper application must have official transcripts sent from their universities directly to Georgetown and must request that a university official complete the Registrar's Certification Form.
