Explain why Miami University would be a good fit for you and highlight any skills that make you a strong candidate for our program. The personal statement should be between 1-2 double spaced pages using 12 font. If you are a student from a Communication Sciences program, who has applied previously or taken time between undergraduate and graduate school, explain how this current application has been strengthened and discuss what you have done with your time that shows a continued interest/passion for the field of speech pathology. If you are a non-traditional student (i.e. any student who has an undergraduate degree in something other than communicative disorders/speech pathology), please describe why are changing professions and why speech pathology is the best new career direction for you. GPA A minimum overall GPA of 3.2 and a minimum GPA of 3.4 in the communication sciences undergraduate degree are recommended. Fee For the 2017-17 academic year, there are TWO parts to the application process that must be completed. Students are recommended to begin the process early in order for the Miami University Graduate School to process your application AND for CSDCAS application to be both completed by the January 1deadline. For Graduate School, submit an online application and pay a non-refundable $50 application fee. The cost for a CSDCAS application is $125 for the first program you apply to. RL You will send a request from CSDCAS to your recommenders, using their system and entering the recommender’s email address. Once your recommenders submit their letters you will be notified Transcript You will be prompted to upload transcripts at this time. We are aware that you have to upload official transcripts for the CSDCAS process. Unfortunately because the College Net system that our graduate school uses and CSDCAS are separate entities you will need to also upload transcripts for our graduate school. However, these may be unofficial transcripts from your primary undergraduate institution. Final transcripts will be required prior to beginning the program after the admission process is complete and you have obtained your degree.
