TOEFL An official TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is required. The exam must have been taken within two years of the intended semester of entry. The minimum computer-based TOEFL score is 213. Minimum Internet-based TOEFL scores are; Writing 22, Speaking 23, Reading 21, Listening 17 IELTS An acceptable IELTS score is bandwidth 7. GRE This is required only for those seeking the M.A. degree. Please note that scores must be from within the past 5 years. When taking your GRE exam, please have your scores sent to the Rutgers-Newark campus, school code 2512. Note: The Department will accept the LSAT in lieu of the GRE.
