尊敬的耶鲁大学管理学院Kerwin K. Charles院长、William N. Goetzman教授，以及各位与会嘉宾：

Today I’m very honored to join the 2023 Yale Impact Investing Conference. It has been my great pleasure to work with the faculty and students at Yale SOM to prepare for the launch of “Meng Impact Investment Fund” for the past few months. I know today is like a “dream come true” moment for many of us at Yale SOM who have been passionate about impact investing for many years and want to play a role in making the world a better place through mission-driven and community-focused investments.

今日（4月22日）我非常荣幸可以应邀远程出席2023年“耶鲁影响力投资峰会”，也在与耶鲁管理学院师生们过去数月的努力筹备之后可以一起正式宣布发起“影响力投资基金”。今天对我们许多人来说是一个“梦想成真”的时刻，这是过去几年，也可以说是几届耶鲁管理学院学生对影响力投资追求所取得的一个重要结果。我们的学生一直以来都希望通过投资来改变世界，并且让投资能更具使命感，给我们的社区与家园带来积极影响。

I take impact investments very close to my heart because I truly believe we are now at a crossroads when it comes to some big questions like climate change, social inequality, and economic imbalances all over the world.  We are now also at a critical stage where the demand for impact investments has never been higher.

对我个人而言，我也是一名“影响力投资“的推崇者。我们在当今世界的许多重大议题上都像站在十字路口，无论是气候变化问题，还是全球经济发展不平衡，这些大问题其实都和投资相关，这也使如今我们探讨影响力投资变得更加重要。

At Yale SOM, from Day 1 of the founding of the school’s focus on public and private management, the faculty and students always try to make a difference and go beyond just making money but also undertaking more social and public responsibilities.

耶鲁大学管理学院从创立的第一天起，使命就是通过投资来改变世界，通过先进且有效的管理机制来让公共和私营机构的运作更加具有可持续发展的潜力。我们的师生都非常明白，当今世界，一项成功的投资不仅仅是赚钱那么简单，如果投资可以同时肩负并促进更多的社会责任感，这将赋予投资在收益之外更有意义的回报。

Through impact investments, we can put our money into good use and create more long-term sustainable positive impact for our world. We can help people. We can help our communities. We all know there is much to do to address many pressing social and economic problems facing our world today. In Chinese, we have an old saying, “A thousand miles journey begins now with a single step.” Today our students have taken their first steps and I look forward to hearing more progress about the new student-led fund at Yale and how we can work together to advocate more for impact investing. My firm, Ascendent Capital, and myself will continue to support our faculty and students alongside the journey of impact investing at Yale.

通过影响力投资，我们可以将资金投入于更能对世界产生长远和积极效应的领域，我们可以帮助全人类以及我们的社区和家园去解决当今世界面临的许多紧迫的社会和经济问题。中国有句老话，“千里之行，始于足下。”今天我们的学生和老师们汇聚一堂，已经迈出影响力投资的第一步。我期待从学生们那里听到更多有关基金运作的好消息。我的公司上达资本以及我个人也将继续帮助耶鲁师生在影响力投资的长远旅途上共同前进。
