Postgraduates in both the taught and research degree programmes are very much embraced within the department and are welcomed here in a way similar to new staff. You will share a common room with academics in the department, and enjoy full access to dedicated computer and library facilities. Areas for PhD supervision include but are not limited to: Alternative Lifeworld fictions; American Literature and Culture; Critical Theory; Ecocriticism; Eighteenth/Nineteenth-century studies; Feminist theory; Literature and Psychoanalysis; Literature and Religion; Medieval and Early Modern Studies; Modern and Contemporary Literature; Modernism; Poetry and Poetics; Postcolonial and World Literary Studies; Shakespeare, Drama and Performance; Literary Translation; Translation Studies; World Literary Systems.
