They are vital to many industries, including: aerospace engineering automotive engineering computing medical imaging & electronics communications manufacturing. This is our most wide-ranging degree programme. It is ideal if you want a broad education as an engineer and it offers you the greatest flexibility in careers once you graduate. This degree programme equips you with the up-to-date theoretical, hardware and software skills and knowledge needed to work as an engineer in this exciting field. A significant strength of this programme is that it combines fundamental electrical and electronic engineering with a very large number of options, ranging from advanced medical sensors, to computer graphics, to renewable energy engineering. This allows you to tailor your degree to match your individual interests and future plans. The key features of this programme are: the widest and most flexible range of options and future career paths research input drawn from across the entire Department projects can involve working with industry accredition by the IET, allowing the fastest route to Chartered Engineer status. Teaching and learning Our programmes are fully modular and taught over two semesters per year. The modules, called units, will involve you in about 20 – 24 contact hours per week, plus private study, in your first two years. These hours consist of lectures, laboratories, workshops and tutorials.
