In examining the art of accounting, this allows us to evaluate the effectiveness or otherwise of accounting information in informing decisions within the organisation. The art of good management is the ability to assimilate, interpret and understand the broad range of information that helps to inform decisions – accounting is one of those crucial management discourses. We embed issues of ethics throughout the programme, so that students can understand, identify, and evaluate fundamental principles of ethics, in the development of ‘better’ professional practice or to illustrate context which helps with improving research.
