TOEFL International students whose native language is not English are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). The test must be taken within two years of matriculation (i.e. September 2013 for Fall 2015 admission), and the minimum scores for admission are: 550 (paper based), 213 (computer based), 80 (iBT). GRE All students are required to take the general GRE and Physics Subject GRE. No exceptions can be made. Our ETS codes are R4839 (UCR) and 0808 (Physics).

PS Applicants must submit these essays directly into their online application. Please note that each essay should not duplicate the other. We also do not accept a personal resume or curriculum vitae as a response to either essay. The Statement of Purpose is your opportunity to state your specific interests with respect to the program to which you are applying. Your intended area of specialization, career objectives and research interests and experience are of particular interest. Fee $100.00 for international/non-immigrant applicants for all programs except the MBA, MPAc and MFIN programs. The nonrefundable application fee must be paid by credit card (VISA or MasterCard) prior to submission of your application. RL provide a minimum of one letter of recommendation directed towards the program you want to enter (change of major) or from the Graduate Advisor of your current program (add a major). Do not use letter(s) of recommendation written for the program you are in currently. Your program may request additional letters of recommendation.
