TOEFL TOEFL: required of applicants whose native language is not English GRE While the University of Georgia Graduate School requires a minimum GRE score of 300 (150 verbal + 150 quantitative) plus a minimum score of 4 on the writing portion, and minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 (or 3.5 from a previous graduate program) for admission, successful applicants to the Department of Human Development and Family Science typically have significantly higher GRE scores and GPAs.  GRE score and GPAs are important pieces of data in the applicant review process and are assessed in context with other application materials such as letters of reccomendation,  and statement of goals.   Admission to our graduate program is highly competitive.  While the number of applications and students admitted varies a bit from year to year, we typically accept approximately 20% of students who apply for admission.
