TOEFL All applicants for whom English is a second language must also submit official TOEFL scores of 79 or higher on the internet-based test, 213 or higher on the computer-based test, or 550 or higher on the paper-based test for verification of English proficiency. IELTS English proficiency can also be met by submitting official IELTS scores of at least 6.5 overall band score from the academic module exam. Applicants holding a bachelor’s or advanced degree from an accredited U.S. institution may be exempt from this requirement. GRE A combined verbal and quantitative score of 1000 on the old GRE; 153 on the verbal, 144 on the quantitative, and 4.0 on the analytic writing on the new GRE. 

PS A personal statement, the statement should be 300-500 words in length (typed) in essay form detailing educational and professional experiences and goals as these relate to the pursuit of graduate studies in the Political Science Department at the University of Louisville. Transcript Applicants for admission to a degree program must submit an official transcript from each college attended. All University of Louisville transcripts will automatically be submitted with the completion of an application. Transcripts must be sent directly from the school to Graduate Admissions, in order to be considered official. Applications to non-degree or certificate programs need only submit an official transcript certifying at least a bachelor's degree.
