TOEFL In addition to the GRE, applicants whose native language or language of instruction is not English must take the TOEFL (The Test of English as a Foreign Language) Exam. The minimum score required for admission to UC Davis is 550 for the paper test, and effective with the fall 2011 admission cycle, a score of 80 is required for the Internet-based test. Inofrmation and an application for the TOEFL can be obtained at most U.S. Consulates or at the ETS TOEFL scores exprie after two years. Scores that are two years old or more will not be accepted by Graduate Admissions. GRE We strongly suggest that the GRE exam be taken no later than October 15 to ensure that we receive official scores by the December 1 deadline. Only the general GRE Examination is required. There is no subject exam in our field. We do not have an established minimum GRE score for admission to our program. For exam purposes use Institution Code: 4834 and Department Code: 2201. SUGGESTIONS: If you have arranged to receive a copy of your scores, please send us a copy. Keep your scores current. The Office of Graduate Studies will only accept GRE scores that are less than five years old. PS Keep the statement within the character limit (4000 characters) provided by the Office of Graduate Studies. Your statement should be clear, concise, and relevant. Do not let the Admissions Committee assume anything; be explicit in addressing the following: What in your background, history, training, and experiences (personal, professional, academic) have led you to pursue graduate training and a career in public health? What are you future career goals in public health (e.g., what health condition or population do you want to work with? What do you see as your contribution in public health)? Why do you need an MPH degree to meet your professional goals? Why UC Davis? GPA Applicants must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution with at least a 3.0 grade-point average (GPA) on graduation. CV CV and/or résumé listing your experience and background in public health. Fee A graduate application fee of $105 (U.S. applicants) or $125 (international applicants) is required from all applicants. Applicants who choose to apply to more than one graduate program must pay an application fee for each program. The application fee is not refundable. Instructions for payment will appear when you submit your online application. RL Three academic or professional recommendations (in English) are required. Letters of recommendation are submitted electronically through the online application. Letter service letters are not accepted. There are no exceptions to the online submission rule. Transcript An official transcript is required from each college-level institution you attended including summer sessions, lower division, and graduate work. You will be instructed to upload scanned copies of your transcripts after you have submitted your online application.
