It also covers important electrical power themes such as renewable energy systems and electric vehicles. The Electrical Power MSc covers the following key subject areas: Electrical Machines Power Electronics Electric Drives Power System Operation Control of Electrical Power A feature of the course is design of electrical systems for transportation and renewable energy applications. This is a particular specialisation of researchers in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. You will develop a knowledge of industry standard computer aided design and analysis techniques appropriate to electrical power such as the use of software packages such as MagNet, MATLAB, Simulink, PSpice and ERACS. Throughout the course you use industry standard test and measurement equipment, experimental hardware, and software packages relevant to the field of electrical and power engineering.
