新加坡国立大学中文系为亚洲地区汉学研究的中心之一。它的宗旨在于促进汉学与汉语学科专业的研究与教学，为世界各地的学生和学者提供进修和研究的机会。中文系隶属于国大文学暨社会科学院，其师资人员来自世界各地的著名学府。近年来，每年有超过1千名学生修读本系开办的各级课程。新加坡国立大学中国文化与语言文学硕士项目旨在为对中国文、史、哲、语言和海外华人感兴趣的相关领域的毕业生提供高素质综合课程，以便提供进一步深造的机会。此项目也为华文教师、新闻从业员和其他相关的华文工作者提供深造和进修的机会。

- 具有新加坡国立大学荣誉学位（优异/二等及以上）或同等学历（例如，4年制学士学位且平均成绩至少达到B或同等水平学历），需要该学科或相关领域背景；或 - 具有该学科或相关领域的良好的学士学位（平均成绩至少达到B或同等水平），并成功完成入学考试；或 - 具有人文社科学院认可的其他资格和经验。 需要提供存款证明60,000新币

本课程以中国文学、历史、哲学、语言为中心，同时涉及海外华人研究课题，为相关领域的毕业生或感兴趣的人士提供深造与进修的机会。作为新加坡国立大学文学暨社会科学院（FASS）中文系的硕士课程，它的设置参照了美国大学的标准，研究领域不仅涵盖中国文学和语言，还包括中国的历史、哲学、宗教、文化等方面的研究，与国内中文系有所不同。 就业服务：大多数毕业生选择回国工作，从事语文教学工作较多，也有考公务员、进入互联网企业等。在新加坡寻找实习或工作的话，对英语能力的要求较高。极个别毕业生会留在当地中文报馆、中国人开的公司或在庙宇道观做文职工作。 招生特点：申请者需要具备985、211汉语言相关专业的背景，极个别申请者可以是英语或其他文学专业或双非和海本背景。申请者的平均成绩需要达到85分以上。申请过程中不进行面试，师范类211学校的申请者在与其他211学校的申请者竞争时具有优势。申请截止后，学校会统一审理申请材料。 班级概况：班级整体人数在140人左右，其中基本都是中国学生。同学背景方面，大部分是985和211学生，有清华大学、北京大学、浙江大学、郑州大学、苏州大学等学校。
